Stimulus check?
General question: should my husband receive any or all of the stimulus checks? His AOS is pending (since forever) but he has the work authorization and a SSN. I received both checks and he did not receive either. We are filing joint taxes with H&R Block and the guy can’t seem to figure out if my husband should claim those stimulus checks. Online research is somewhat vague. People with visas qualify and everyone else it says “must have a substantial presence in the US” but doesn’t really describe what qualifies as substantial.
Has anyone else dealt with this yet? Did you receive the checks? My only concern is claiming it on taxes and then having the IRS jump on us bc he doesn’t actually qualify.
