Successful B2 Visa
Thanks for immihelp for providing info. My Dad had his B2 visa interview on Oct 16,2007 @ 8:00 AM and he had a very good experience. He took the interview in a regional language. VO and the interpreter both were male and he was just asked 4 questions.

1. Which company and what position is yr son working?

2. How many kids do you have?

3. How much is yr pension monthly and yearly?

4. What is yr income here in India?

After this the VO said you are granted visa and yr passport will be couriered to U. My Dad got his passport the next day and it is the 10 yr multiple entry visa.

I had asked my Dad to answer confidently and look at his eyes and give answers. I had sent my Dad every single document that you can think of and he had very good idea of what each one is. For most of the questions my Dad volunteered if the VO wants to see the docs, but the VO said no need. The VO never saw a single doc.

Dad mentioned that the consulate was very crowded and that there were several rejections for women who came alone and answered poorly.

Having said all this I firmly believe that this whole immigration system of the US is a joke and it is worst than the 3rd world. I really feel for people who are rejected without even given a chance to explain or produce the docs. How in the world would they reject someone without even looking into their merits or demerits. It is a farce!! Chances of getting a visa of any type(not only B2) is a luck and depends on the mood of the VO. This to me doesn't make any sense.

Bottomline if someone here in this forum is advising you after rejection that you have to prepare well next time..... It is B.S What the heck are you supposed to prepare when the VO just asks you a single question and doesn't look into the docs and summarily rejects that person. Having said that I also don't agree with lack of preparation on the part of the candidate. For example: My Dad said that there was a lady who when asked by the VO where yr son works? She responded by saying everything is there in the form. This is mainly due to the lack of understanding and preparation by the sponsor to their parent.

Also someone in this forum said that it is close to impossiible to get a visitor visa if you are a GC holder. belony...... I'm a GC holder and I know several of my collegues are the same and every single one of them has succesfully got B2 visa for their in-laws and parents. So please stop posting misinformation. Just give the facts and mainly tell both sides of the story. Not just what is politically correct. Say things that will work practically.

Good Luck Everybody!!
