H1B, H4 Visa

Hi all, went in today for our H1/H4 inerview morning (9/11/09). After a 1 hour in the waiting area after getting ur Docs checked, we finally got our number displayed on the screen. went in and luckily was only a 5 minute interview. Our Background: my wife and myself have MS CS from US and also worked for Fortune 100 company for a few years before moving back to India in 2006. I applied for a job again this year in a small company 13 year old, 60 employees) and went for the interview today.

lady VO:hi, give me ur passport/I-797.
me: here they r
VO: do u have old passports
me: yes,
VO:please showed them
i gave her our old passports, she checked our previous H1 stamps & F1 stamps.
VO: What have u been doing the last few yrs?
me: working in India
VO:so whats the name of the company u will work for?
me: xxx
What will u do there?
me: gave my speal about technical architecture, etc
VO: more details on project
me: gave more details
she waved her hand to cut me off, she was typing into the PC what i was saying i guess.
VO: whats ur salary?
me: xx
she turned to my wife
VO:what do u do?
wife: i am a housewife currently.

then the golden words, ur visas will be issued, ur passports will couried to u in a week's time. I hope i get them without any confusion.

We took all our documents A to Z, but luckily, she didnt even ask for a single doc. the whole thing was over in 3-5 minutes.

Tips: You will be nervous, thats natural, but act normal, and i am telling u guys, especially first time H1 people, wear a business casual or business formal shirt/pants, dont wear jeans or t-shirts, appearance matters a lot. Dont wear colorful shirts, wear formal office shirts.
