Visitor Visa - B2

Hello All,

First of all my sincere thanks to Immihelp for all the valuable information you hold on your site.

They had a Telugu interview in Hyderabad on 8th july at 9 AM.

The VO was an American who can speak little Telugu. No Translator was present.

The questions were:

1. Wht does your son do?
2. How long do you plan to stay?
3. Do you have a passport copy of your son, show me.
4.Where in US does your son stay?
5. How many children do you have?
6. Where do they live? (Other than me all 2 of them are in india)

Later VO said that the passport would reach them in a weeks time.

Their photo on DS160 did not had a white background hence they had to take another photo with in the consolate premises and attach on SD160.


This interview was a huge relief for me because of following points

1. My lastname is Combination of my Surname and my dad's name while my dad's last name is just the surname.

2.My passport shows my dads name directly while my dads passport has the given name as combination of his fathers name and them his. I had asked my dad to carry an affidavit explaining the same.

3.My father is a business man and i read a lot of rejections for them. Luckily no question was asked on what he does.

4. In the month of March 2011 i had sponsered Visa for inlaws so was a little bit skeptical about my parents interview.

Points i tried from my side:

Not sure if these points really helped in clearing the interview but just wanted to share with you.

1. Choose Friday appointment though thursday was available. (Generally Friday mood is good as we all know)

2.Mentioned the intended stay as 4 months (jst to be different from routine 6 months and 3 mnths)

3.Prepared my parents to mention about the properties we had rented out when asked about Business.
