Hi,
My parents had their visa interview in Chennai consulate on Aug. 23rd 2005 and they have got 10 yrs Mutiple entry :-))).
The interviewer was an American guy and to my parents' surprise, he spoke in Tamil. Eventhough, I had prepared all documents as per Immihelp and conducted a mock interview for my parents - No documents were seen except the Visa appln. form and No questions were asked except "is your daughter in California ?" for which my mother replied in English "one daughter is in California, one daughter is in Chennai". To this the consulate officer replied, "You can reply in Tamil, I can understand Tamil", for this my mother replied "very happy to hear that" in tamil. And then that's it. They were asked to pay the fees.
They key I guess is to do everything required, prepare your parents my making them familiar with all possible questions so that they can be confident & relaxed. And then on the D-day if they're lucky and it goes easy (like it did for my parents), else if it ends up being a tough one, atleast they will be prepared to handle it.
I really want to THANK Immihelp for it's service. Immihelp is GREAT.
