Tourist Visa extension
Hi,
My mom got a 10yr multiple entry visa without any hassle. She came here in August 2003 and was suppsoed to go back by Feb 27th 2004. But, we wanted her to be there for our 5th wedding anniversary, so we applied for an extension in mid-January 2004. We have all the copies of documentation. She was rejected any extension and we got the letter on 18th May 2004, but her I-94 card showed date of rejection as 8th May 2004. She had an open ticket with Singapore Airlines, but they could not give her any seat until July. We bought fresh ticket from Bristish Airways and sent her back on 31st May, 2004. She owns a house in India, and has all financial ties there. My concerns are:
1. Will she be allowed in this country again?
2. How long should she wait before applying for a new visa because they will void that 10-yr multiple entry visa.
3. Does anyone know whether the US consulate in India grants a new visa to people overstayed because they were waiting for their decision?
