Our interview experience wasn't good. Only my wife got an interview letter initially. I took an inforpass appointment and office told me that I am also supposed to be interviewd on same date/time. Me, my sister and my wife went for an interview which was shceduled for 11 AM. We were called in around 1 by a lady VO. She was not at all welcoming. All other VOs were smiling and welcoming their candidates while ours was rude from very first moment. Once we sat in office she told us to take a oath. After that shae asked me and my wife about our date of birth. Asked my sister about our parents name. She asked for t our marriage certificate, copy of our birth certificates, passport, marriage certificate, my daughter's birth certificate (who is US citizen by birth). Then she asked if we were involved in any crime or so. (These were all general questions that we answered and thought that was it) But than she started asking me about my stay in US. (I came in US on student visa and than got my work permit. I also joined another school after that to persue my Doctorate degree.) She didn't know student visa rules and told me that according to her system's information she was seeing overlapping in my stay is US. I was confused and wasn't sure what did she mean by that. She asked me when did I visit my home country and which status i came back in. (I wasn't clear about dates as its been more than 5 years now) My wife was trying to help me but VO shush her down and told me that only I am supposed to answer. Once I told her she was still confused and told me to write down on paper about my visits and dates. She tool our I-94s from our passport. We went out in waiting area and i wrote down everything as she mentioned. After 15/20 minutes she came out with our files and told us that for now we can go home and they will contact us if they need anything. That's it. Its been 3 weeks now. Haven't heard anything. I was surprised that VO didn't know visa rules due to which we have to suffer this much. Its scary waiting game. Has anyone faced this kind of issue?
