Boston case - waiting 6 months since filing
Hi everyone,
I would appreciate anyone's input on my case, as it seems it is taking an excessively long time to move forward:

01/07/16 Application Sent
01/14/16 Application Received
02/02/16 Biometrics taken
Have heard nothing since. When I check my status, all it says is that my case was received on 01/14.
Note: I have scheduled an InfoPass appointment for next Monday, July 18th.

For reference, my brother submitted his application a few days later than me in Maryland, and he had his interview on July 1st.

The waiting and worrying has only caused me to brainstorm the reasons why my case may be delayed:
- I have been going to school in Boston for the past couple of years but was technically a MD resident up until last year. However, I made sure to wait until I was well past the three month state residency requirement (waited 4.5 months). I consider the day my lease started in MA as the beginning of my MA residency, given that this is a legally binding document. I also moved all of my bank accounts to my new MA address. I am worried that USCIS may have an issue with me trying to establish residency in Massachusetts and thus deem my application invalid.
- While I was a student in college, I neglected to file a Maryland state return for the year of 2014. As I have neither worked nor earned any income in the state of Maryland, I thought this was not a requirement for me. I received a notice from the Maryland Comptroller's office and I have responded with the required payment, but I do not think this case has been completely closed out. Perhaps USCIS has noted this and thus put a hold on my case because of this?
- I got my biometrics taken a week early, because I had a work trip the week of my scheduled fingerprints. I worry that this may have caused some paperwork to be mixed up on their end. Or they may not have even recognized that I took my biometrics early.
-Finally, probably a stretch, but my fingerprints have historically been hard to take. When I got my native country's passport renewed in November 2015, we had a lot of difficulty getting some viable fingerprints for me. Perhaps this was the case for my biometrics this time around?

Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. My job currently requires me to travel a considerable amount. So I'm having to worry about being out of town when I am finally summoned for my interview/oath. In addition, until I can get a US passport, I'm having to still apply for entry/business visas for all of the countries my company sends me to for work, and it's becoming a hassle.

I know my case is not the worst, and I am lucky to at least have permanent residence. It's just become so frustrating and I feel so helpless.
