Green card AOS interview canceled

Interview was scheduled at Lawrence, MA field office this morning at 7:45. We went there and checked in at 7:30. At 7:35, an IO came out to the waiting area and said they have to cancel the appointment as they don't have my paperwork from NBC and they will reschedule once it's all squared away. That was it. It's funny that they had to wait till 5 min before the interview to cancel it. I got the interview letter on June 10th and they had all this time to figure things out. So nothing to do but wait. I already applied for EAD renewal a month ago as mine expires Sep 30.
Did anyone go through something similar?
