Hello. Ive been reading here for a while and see people with similar situations so i will share my struggle as well.
May 29th- Priority date
june- biometrics completed
august -EAD received
january 14th interview
Have not heard anything since interview.
I've had congressional inquiries done and the response is basically they are all backed up.
The odd thing was that when we had our initial interview, i, like most people though we would get the green card at the appointment. My case is completely legit and i am retired military I figured that may help. WHen the interview was over, the officer said she had good news and bad news. The good news was basically we had nothing to worry about as she knew our case was legit. My wife and i have four kids together, photos, all documentation neccessary. the bad news was that the green card was going to take 3-5 months. The reason for this was that the people at this office doing our interviews were actually just filling in. They were from other departments and because the office was so understaffed they basically were doing the interviews for the actual officers but didnt have the actual power to say yes or no. The way i understood it was that they basically looked over the case, determined if it was legit or not but than it still had to go to an officer who is allowed to say yes or no and that was the part that could take 3-5 months. that was now six months ago. After that interview i asked to speak to the supervisor of the floor and she told me there was no way it would take that long but that was the timeline that they had to give. anyway, here I am waiting like many others. Just wanted to share my experience.
