Got the visas (All 3 of us)
First of all, All thanks to Immihelp, as this has been a platform for applicants like me to get educated regarding the procedures / changes in the visa application. I have been reading the blogs since 1 month and have been preparing my case based on the experiences shared by all the users. However I would say that the luck was favoring us upto some extent. Hereunder is my delightful experience:-
We were 3 applicants comprising of myself, my wife and my 3 year old daughter. According to the rules the interview for my daughter is not required. We had an appointment time at 9:00 am today at BKC, Mumbai. We reached by 8:30 am and saw a huge queue which made us a bit stressed out. However everything was well organized. We were allowed to get in the queue at 9:00 am sharp (as per appointment time) Our passports were checked at the gates and they let us in the bldg. There was a security check inside which took 5 mins and there was an open ground with roof with 50-60 chairs. We were made to sit for sometime and within another 10 mins we were in the main bldg. Inside finger printing was done and accordingly we were in the final queue for the interview. There were around 30 windows and the applicants were one by one sent to the windows for the interview. Finally we were been guided to one of the windows.
Now comes the main part (THE INTERVIEW)
ME: Very Good Morning to you Sir with a confident smile !!
VO: Good morning Sir with a smile
Me: Shall I slide the passports
VO: Certainly Sir
(I gave all our 3 passports)
VO: What is the reason for your travel?
Me: For holiday Sir and meeting my uncle in Pennsylvania
VO: What does your uncle do?
Me: Answered
(The officer kept on typing for 1 min)
VO: What you do?
Me: Business (explained my nature of duties)
VO: Which are the countries you have traveled?
Me: Conveyed
VO: Which trip has been your favorite till now?
Me: Conveyed
VO to my wife: Which trip has been your favorite till now?
Wife: Same as conveyed by me
Then came the golden words “Visa Approved” The VO was giving my daughters passport back assuming that we are 2 and one of our passports would be old. With a smile I told him sir this is my daughter’s passport and he said oops sorry and he took it back with a smile. The overall experience was wonderful. No documents asked, no tough questions asked. We were out of the bldg in dot 45 mins. But I would recommend all the applicants to go through the blog as all the officers are not same.
The key is to be confident (not over confident) and be honest.
