Houston Interview Experience - Long Day!
I had my interview on July 28th at the Houston office, scheduled for 12pm. Arrived 11:35, called in at 12:40. The officer was a wonderful guy, very polite and friendly.

I took the oath. My petitioner who was there with me was not asked to take an oath. We started with three basic questions:
-Full name
-Date of birth
-Current address.

Then the IO asked if I had ever been a victim of identity theft. I said yes. Showed proof of the whole issue and the resolution (it's complicated). He took my original birth certificate, my DL and all my passports and left the room. He returned 15-20 minutes later and said that he's reviewing the case with his supervisor, and could I please wait in the lobby. He held on to my identification documents.

I waited in the lobby from 1:10 until about 2:30. I chatted with some of the couples who were waiting, just to keep myself occupied. I only had a kindle with me, and all electronics have to be OFF. My suggestion to everyone is take with you a REAL book or a magazine, or a Rubik's Cube, or an Etch-A-Sketch...anything non-electronic, just in case you have to wait.

Anyway, I was called back in and had to make a sworn statement (which I also signed) about my travel in and out of the country, and details of the identity theft case. The officer went above and beyond and called the authorities right then to verify the case. They told him they would call back with the answers he needed. He reviewed the yes/no questions on the I485 with me, and asked a few other questions. Then we waited and chatted for a little while, hoping the authorities would give him a call back right away. They didn't.

So my case was not approved, and at 3:05 as I was leaving, I got the letter saying my file is being held for further review. So now we wait :-)

Don't be scared of the interview guys! It usually goes well if you have all your documents in order. Everyone I interacted with was nice, from security, to the people at the sign in desk, to the IO. They're people too, so send them positive vibes and they'll respond in kind.

Good luck everyone!

I'll update my complete timeline when there's something new to report. Don't hold your breath :-)
