Stuck at the Background Check
Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.
We are waiting for the results of the required security checks on your case before we can continue our review.
Hello guys,
Please feel free to check my previous posts. In summary, my office (Phoenix, AZ) is usually fast in processing the i485-marriage based. However, my case is out of normal processing and I received today the following message from them:
"All applicants for a U.S. immigration benefit are subject to criminal and national security background checks to ensure they are eligible for that benefit. USCIS performs checks on each applicant, regardless of ethnicity, national origin, or religion.
For most applicants, the process quickly determines if there are criminal or security-related issues in an applicant?s background that affect eligibility for immigration benefits. Most cases proceed without an issue. However, due to both the volume of security checks USCIS conducts, and the need to ensure that each applicant is thoroughly screened, some delays on individual applications are inevitable."
Is there any time limit to the security check? What can I do? I raised two SR so far and not sure what to do. I read somwhere that the name check has to be done within 6 months. Any previous experience with such situation? Thanks
