Mexico City H1 and H4 renewal
Hello All,

I got my h1 and h4 visa renewal done in mexico city recently and wanted to share my experience as I got a lot of good info from this site. I got indian passport and chose mexico city coz i need canadian visa to enter Canada but can enter mexico on my US visa. I actually entered mexico on my B1 visa which is valid for another 5 years and not on H1b visa. So if your H1b visa is expired but you have a B1 visa, you can still enter mexico. I saw a lot of reviews in this forum about canada but very less about mexico and i thought people tend to write bad experiences and not good ones, so i went with my gut feeling and god was i right. here is my experience.

Reached mexico city at midnight wednesday 7/27
Photo and fingerprint appointment thursday 7/27 at 7:20AM. I booked hotel really close to embassy and walked to the center. I reached center at 7:10 and was out of it my 7:25AM.

Interview Friday 7/28 at 8:00AM. reached around 7:45AM. Lady asked standard questions about how long are you working with this company, how long in US, responsibilities. Then she asked my wife what does she do in her free time. mY wife told her that she works on h4 ead. Lady wrote few things and said your visa is approved and you can collect it by wednesday.

Mexico city is really cool place. Spent the weekend visiting aztec pyramids, puebla etc. Really cool.
Status changed to issued on Monday 8/1.
Passport ready to be picked up tuesday 8/2
Took flight back tuesday night.

Another good thing is mexico city is really cheap. Uber cost next to nothing, shopping is cool. Lots of history and culture. I had very good experience.
