I-485 related EAD card got expedited successfully!

Hello everyone,

I would like to share my successful experience of my EAD card expedite request.

Before expediting my case, I already waited for 62 days. I got an offer in the middle of July and my employer expected me to start to work in September. I waited patiently at first, but as time passed by, it seemed impossible for me to get my EAD on time. Then I submitted my expedite request.

I called customer service - interestingly there is no option for you to expedite your case when you hear those instructions. You need to go for the FORGET MY RECEIPT NUMBER OPTION, to talk to a representative.

Before you make the phone call, I suggest you think up with a reason and figure out the expedite criteria you fit in.( THIS IS THE LINK OF DIFFERENT CRITERIA https://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria).

On the phone, the representative will ask the reason why you want to expedite your case, criteria you prefer to use and your contact info. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GIVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS TO THE REPRESENTATIVE. Why? I only left my phone number,as a result I have to get the notice via mail. If you leave your email, you might get the notice several days earlier. At the end of the call, the representative will give you a referral number and ask you to wait up to 5 days to get feedback.

I got a feedback online after 1 day, which said my case was completed( not approved nor denied, very confusing). I received my notice via mail after one week, which requires me to fax my proof of job offer.

Five days after I faxed my proof, my case was assigned to an officer. Two days after that, my 765 and 131 cases were completed and my EAD card was being produced. Finally, I got my EAD card.

What I also want to mention is that I kept praying to God during the whole process. According to Bible in Matthew 7:7 "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you", God is listening.

Below is my case time tracker:
7/1 Receive biometrics appointment letter in mail
7/13 Biometrics Appointment
7/24 Update online
8/2 Submit expedite request
8/9 Receive notice that tells USCIS needs more evidence by mail
8/10 Fax offer letter( FAX ONLY, you can do it at UPS)
8/15 Expedite case was assigned to an officer
8/17 Case was approved
8/19 Card was mailed to me ( no tracking number included)
8/22 Receive approval notice of I-131, I-765, Expedite request
8/24 Receive my EAD card Yah!!

Hope this information could help you. Best luck with your expedite request.
