Husband in jail...Approved in spot
Hello everyone
Just want to share my experience with you all. My journey was fairly hood but I had a big challenge on my interview day. Before I go any further I just want to let you guys know that my case is much different from most of you because my husband is incarcerated. I was represented by my lawyer who I thank and appreciate so much. Here is a summary of my timeline:

Priority date....1/11/16
Biometrics done... 2/11/16
Rfe mailed....2/13/16
USCIS recd Rfe....3/7/16
Ead card approved....3/24/16
Recd ead card...4/1/26
Interview text notification...8/16/16
Interview and approval... 9/21/16
Recd GC....9/30/16

My interview time was 1:00 and me and my lawyer were called in at about 1:10 pm.. The IO looked very serious and while walking to the office the first thing she said was "we have a problem... I can't approve the husband is not here".I felt bad but I didn't show it, went into the office and she swore me in. Then she began talking with the lawyer, she left to talk with her supervisor for about 10 mins and then she returned. When she got back she said to the attorney that she was going to get pertinent with me..then she started drilling me.

She had me for 1 hour asking questions after questions. It was such an emotional experience for me but at the end of the day it turned out positive. She approved me on spot and said I will get my green card in 10 days and that it would be 10 yrs. She even ended up giving me a hug.

Please also bare in mind that I had a son after we got married and I have been married since 2012.
If you guys have any questions feel free to ask I am willing to share.

Bless.
