I-485 Denied :(
Hi All,

After waiting almost 2 years for a decision on my I-485 I finally received a notice in the mail only to find out that it was denied. I'm so heart broken, I can't even explain.

So the letter states the reason for the denial is because I failed to submit proper documents/responses to the RFE they'd sent me after my interview. Per my attorney, USCIS needed written documentation or proof that I was physically present in the U.S. on Dec. 21, 2000 - which I was, I was a senior in high school. I sent in everything I could find, pictures, receipts, etc. but what they really wanted was proof that my father (principal beneficiary of petition I was grandfathered through) was physically present.

I should have carefully read the request instead of relying on my attorney, but then again, that's why I hired one. I've already notified his office and am waiting for a call back to see what my options are. Actually, I know what my options are I just need him to tell me he's going to fix it.

I'm so bummed, I have a husband, a gorgeous baby boy and a great job that I love and I'm about to lose everything over a stupid oversight.
