interview Baltimore field office
Hey all,

So today was the long awaited day!.
We got to Baltimore office and after checking in, we were called in and sworn.

Since our case is on F2A category, the I-130 was approved 09/15 and it was already in file and so the officer said our marriage has been approved so the interview is just for AOS only!. He checked status (currently on H1B visa) ie VISA stamp on passport and asked if traveled on the H1B visa. Then went through all the questions on 485 and that was it!. In 15 min, the 2+ yrs wait was done!.

I had compiled a folder with all imaginable evidence I could come up with to support our case and of course a full album!. So when the officer said he does not need any more information from us as of now, I laughed and said "ooh my God, I have this file ready for you....lol...he just replied..."I can imagine all that is about your marriage?.....we have everything we need as of now". Oh I must mention, my husband is the one who was being asked about his I-485. I just sat there all this time and not 1 single question about our marriage so I did not talk at all....

I ges we sent out a lot of supporting documents for both I-130 and I-485 that they probably dint need anything more from us.The officer had our file and it was quite a fat bundle of everything we have sent out.

We had opened a joint account long before we got married, put in the paper work when I was pregnant with my first and by the time we did I-485 we already had baby 2!...so this made the case a lot easy. We did a court wedding and that was not even brought up.

At the end, the officer gave us a form where he ticked on the box that "the case is held for review etc etc" and said we should here from USCIS if they need any additional information from us.

I must add that, while we waited to be called in, the field director announced that they r under staffed and therefore there could be delayed. Maybe that is why Baltimore office is so back logged.....?

Anyhow, I hope we will get the greencard soon.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes.....and if you put your application together with thorough supporting information, I ges there is nothing to worry about and in-fact if you can do it yourself, that will save you some $$$. We did it on our own....so can you!.

My best wishes to everyone.....remember no matter how frustrating the waiting is......the outcome will beat all the anxiety!....its so relaxing to be done.

In summary,

PD (485,765,131) was 04/21/16
Interview scheduled 11/21/16
Interview date 12/22/16

Took 9 months overall for Baltimore office......I hope it will not be a long wait again for the GC to show up in the mail!.

My best to everyone.
