Houston Field Office I-485 Processing Times
Hello Houston Filers…

I’m awaiting interview for a family based adjustment of status (AOS I-485) petition. My priority date is June 7th, 2016 and my USCIS field office is Houston.

I just want to thank those people that post information regarding their priority and interview schedule date and are explicit about their field office. This information is sometimes more useful than the USCIS processing time tables and It has help me better estimate how much longer I need to wait for the interview. So far I compiled information from 10 Houston filers that have priority dates that range from September 8th, 2015 to January, 2016. Based on this sample I have learned that on average the time between PD to Interview date is 407 calendar days for the Houston field office.

According to the most recent USCIS field office processing time update Houston ranks 79 out of 86 field offices in terms of processing times for I485 AOS. As of October 31st, 2016 the field office was processing applications with a PD of January 4th 2016 (about 301 calendar days). The USCIS field office with the shortest I485 processing times is Helena, MT with116 days and the longest one is Reno, NV with 730 days. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

Also USCIS quarterly application reports have indicated that the number of I485 applications has been steadily increasing while the number of processed applications has a declining trend (quarter to quarter variations go up or down) creating an ever increasing backlog of applications (growing exponentially). So the processing times will probably continue to experience further increases if no dramatic actions are taken. https://www.uscis.gov/tools/reports-studies/immigration-forms-data/data-set-form-i-485-application-adjustment-status

All of this is not meant to disappoint you but rather to give you solid information on where we all stand. Good Luck All and please keep posting!
