Visa Stamping from Canada/ Mexico

My interview was in Vancuover Consulate @ 7.15am on 01/17/17. I booked the appointment 4 weeks back and it was only showing 2 time slots i.e 7 and 7.15 am. They open the doors around 7 and ask people to queue in according to the appointment time (i.e 7 am first and then 7.15 am). I think they have a locker for phone because some people had got them and they did not have to go looking at convenience store or Starbucks to keep them. No food,smartwatches,USB's,sealed envelopes. Before entering the building they check the DS160,Passport,recent photo and folders of documents as security check.After entering the building they do the full security check and then pre-check of all your information at one window and then fingerprinting at another.After this they take you to another floor for the interview where you have to queue up for the interview. My turn came after a 20-25 mins wait and i had 8 people before me.

The questions i was asked are as below -
Note - VO was looking at his system and typing/cross checking throughout the interview

VO: Good morning.
Me: Hello Good morning and provided passport and orignal I797 (gave DS160 but he said he does not need it)

VO: Since when are you on H1?
Me: Since xyz year

VO: oh so its already above 5 years and you have 6 years limit beyond which you need approved I140 for extension. Do you already have that ?
ME: Yes i have a approved I140

VO: so your employer is xyz ?
Me: Yes

VO: So this is your H1 after F1?
Me: I was on F1,OPT,OPT extn,H1B and this is H1B renewal

VO: what do you work as?
ME: I work as abc at xyz location 

VO: what do u do?
ME: told him job duties 

VO: Gave me the rights pamplet and said i need to read it before i go to office next time (so i understood its approved)
Me: Sure. Thank you

VO: Your visa is approved. It will take 3 business days to get your passport (he gave a green color pamplet with instructions)
Me: Thank you. (I asked if they need to keep my old passport since my Canada Visa is in my old passport.He said they do not need it)
Note- He kept my passport and original I797
