Washington DC oath ceremony
My husband had his interview and testing at the Fairfax, Virginia, office on December 21, 2016. He passed and was "recommended for approval". On approximately December 28 his online status said he had been approved for citizenship and also that his oath ceremony was scheduled.

Now we are waiting for the letter telling him the date to take the oath, which because we are DC residents will be at the US District Court for DC and is administered only on the second Tuesday of each month.

Has anyone here taken the oath in Washington, DC, in the past year, or are you waiting to take it now?

How long did you wait for your letter after USCIS website said your oath ceremony had been scheduled?

My husband is going to call the customer service number tomorrow since it's been almost one month since his status said the oath was scheduled and no letter yet.

I'm thinking that maybe it takes a while in DC because of the ceremony only being held once a month. We didn't know this until after he passed his test and we researched it. We had hoped he would be sworn in on the same day or soon after. We're not worried, just so looking forward to this big event and the end of all the applications and long waits.

Thanks for any response.
