Filing Tax Jointly
Hi Everyone !
Just have few questions and please will need answers based on experience. Not filing this year tax jointly with my wife, will it affect our interview? Meanwhile, I have no SSN yet but the person preparing my wife's tax said I have to apply for ITIN. I have made a research on getting ITIN, the processes are complicated and the waiting time seems long and not only that, I heard that I should mail my original passport and the form for the ITIN to their office. Am a kind of afraid because I wouldn't want to loose my passport on the process. If the accept a scanned copy of it, am ok. Again, I don't know if they can accept Driver's Learner's Permit from where I use to live before I moved for my proof of identity .
