Hi everyone, I just wanted to share with the people of Virginia that you can use your I-797 for the I-485 at the DMV to get your ID or drivers license. They do not accept work permit as proof of status. Also if you already have a drivers license from another country you don't need a learners permit first you can go right ahead and apply for the drivers license. I used it to get mine in January
