Finally, my EAD!
Here is my timeline.

H1B Fall 2014-->submit I-140 for wife and I (THE 140 NIW IS A HUGE AMOUNT OF WORK) NIW EB2 route Fall 2015 --> I 140 approved! Summer 2016 ! yes 9 month wai!t! --> submit I-485 (A LOT OF WORK!)--> Winter 2017 submit I-140; biometrics completed and EAD printing (this last step when quickly)

It feels so good to see the horizon after being in the system so long. Anyone considering getting a green card should prepare for 1.5-2 years ahead! Also, H1 renewal is now ~1 year wait time! Please find other options if you can before wasting huge amounts of time and money. It is great once you get it, but not a process for everyone. Many will fail. It is complicated so be careful! However, it is worth it with respect to the uncertainty dealing with border guards. With some other VISAs they can reject you if they are having a bad day.
