H1B Interview - Ottawa
Hi All,

Today I got my H1B Visa approved at Ottawa. This was my second time interview in Ottawa.

After the regular security check at the US Consulate entrance, took the finger prints and was asked me to stand in the interview line.

There were around 10 people ahead of me. There were only two Visa officers taking interviews(Lady VO in one window & the gent VO in the other window).

NOTE:- The finger print lady asked me, what is your status in Canada? I said that came here yesterday evening on a visitor visa from US to get my visa stamped.

Me: Good morning Sir
VO: Good morning; Can I have your passport and I-797 document.

Me: Gave my passport and I-797.

VO: Who is your employer?
Me: xxxxxxxx

VO: What are your roles and responsibilities?
Me: Explained my roles and responsibilities for about one and half min. and the VO was seriously looking at my explanation.

VO: Can you show me your employment contract letter?
Me: Opened up my document folder and gave him the employment verification letter.

VO: So, your designation is xxxxxx right?
Me: Yes sir

VO: Then he went through my roles and responsibilities which were mentioned in my employment verification letter. He asked again, what technologies you have been using for the current project?
Me: I replied YYYY technologies being used at the client location.

VO: What is your client name?
Me: xxxx client; He could not understand and asked me to spell it out. I told him letter by letter. Then he entered the client name into the computer.

VO: What is your current salary?
Me: xxxxxx per annum

VO: Where is your family right now?
Me: My family is in US and they didn't come with me.

VO: What is their visa status?
Me: They are on H4 visa

VO: He gave me a white paper and told that your Visa is approved and will get your passport in 2-3 days. Have a great day!

Me: Thank you sir.

Basically I don't see any rejections when I was standing in the interview line; but they are asking more questions to make sure if you are really working in US and also looking at your confidence levels(I felt that way).

As long as you have everything with you, don't need to worry about the interview.

Currently I am waiting for my passport and the status shows as "Administrative Processing". This will become approved once they complete the visa stamping in the passport.

Thanks everyone who posted their experience here. It would be definitely helpful for others.
