How I was rejected for the first time a USA B1/B2- Visa and reapplied after a week then got approve
Since I have an overload of works, I asked help from the consultant office to do all the processing and

fill up my application. I just gave them the copies of my passport and CV/resume. After they finalized

my application I reviewed it and paid them 30 JOD (approximately 2,000 pesos) it just took them 30 minutes to completely

fill up the application through the website, I guess they have already filled up thousands of application since the business is running

for almost 10 years. By the way I’m an OFW ( Overseas Filipino Worker) working both in the cities of Riyadh,KSA and Amman, Jordan. Let’s make it fast forward

my first schedule of interview was February 20,2017 at 9:00 PM, as early as 8:00 AM I was already in the US Embassy (Amman).

For almost a week I researched those probable questions that might asks by the consul and tips for the interviews.

It was like all things are scripted and monologue on my part.

At around 8:30 we are asked by the security to get inside and fall in line to another window for verification of the passport and the schedule.

That moment I was so nervous and it feels like I’m going again for another panel interview for job vacancies and then we went again to another

security to surrender all the electronic stuffs. I handover to them my two mobile phones and get inside to another room for finger scanning. After

the finger scanning there’s a door to go inside the room and my instinct is right that this is the room for judgment I saw the queue and was exactly 9:00 AM that time.

It was already mixed emotions but I’m confident that I will get approval. It looks like I was in the fifteen on the queue and there are two consuls conducting the interview.

I was the only Filipino on that room and all of them are locals (Jordanian). I did my observations and most of them were rejected, the two consuls are really professionals and expert because

they conducted the interview to the locals through Arabic language, three passports were handover by the consuls to a checker and I guess from the fourteen people before me three were approved.

I don’t entertain it and keep a positive attitude and It was my turned.

INTERVIEW:

ME: Hi, Good morning…..
CONSUL: No answer, just keep her eyes on the monitor of the computer.
ME: I gave my passport.
CONSUL: Why do you want to go to US?
ME: For tourist purposes and I want to visit a family friend (simple answer as per the tips in the interview).
CONSUL: What is your friend doing there?
ME: She is program specialist…….
CONSUL: What are those countries you have visited.?
ME: Singapore, Macau, Hongkong, Israel, UAE, Saudi, Jordan…..
CONSUL: How long have you’ve been living in Jordan.
ME: For almost a year now…
CONSUL: Are you single?
ME: YES
CONSUL: Continue typing and looking into the monitor of her computer…
then suddenly she said sorry your visa has been denied and gave me this blue slip.
ME: Took the blue slip and said Thank you.

Two minutes of interview and my money was put into waste and I was so frustrated that moment since I really hate rejection. It was exactly 9:25 AM when I left that room and very sad.

There a lot of questions popping in my mind and I was so angry because she doesn’t even ask any documents to support my application because I prepared everything prior to my interview.

So I contacted the consultant office and tell it to them I was denied they advised to go again for another shot next week. I went again for another interview

and that was February 28,2017 one week after my rejection. This time I booked the first schedule of interview of 7:45 AM. I don’t know that day I woke up 5:00 AM and prepared

to go to US embassy and exactly 6:30 AM I was there. To my surprise I was the only one in the queue so I check again the time in my mobile. I was the first one on the line meaning I will

be the first one to be interview which I’m happy because it was my planned. I do always believe that early bird catches the worm. It’s almost 8:15 when the interview started five of us

were asked by the security to fall in line, only one consul that time and I’m praying that it should be the same consul and luckily she’s not.

INTERVIEW:
ME: Hi Good morning then gave my passport.
CONSUL: Good morning Carlos, How are you?
ME: (In my mind oh good she is interacting, I guess I have a good chance). I replied I’m doing fine and how about you?
CONSUL: I’m good, why do you want to travel to USA?
ME: (This time I made it natural, truthful, and relax), when I was young I dreamed of going to USA specifically in San Francisco and if I got chance I want to explore the city and aside
from that I wanted to see my friend.
CONSUL: Does your friend is having a green card?
ME: OMG I wasn’t able to asked her if she has a green card already (it’s all in my mind). But I answered it, Honestly I really don’t know if she has a green card but she is already married
to an American citizen. We are communicating through facebook….
CONSUL: OK
ME: In my mind “ slim chance already”.
CONSUL: How long have you been staying in Jordan.
ME: This time I elaborate my answer, Since 2015 I keep on coming back to Amman from Riyadh for a special project. We acquired ______Company and I have to introduce the _______ policies and procedures for
sales finance and to teach them the system we are using which is______ and SAP. This is a joint venture of ______ Company and _______ International.
CONSUL: Good, you are working in _______ How long have you been connected with this company…….
ME: For almost six years.
CONSUL: How much you are earning per month?
ME: Approximately by this amount……….
CONSUL: Do you have any letter from the Company?
ME: YES and I gave my employment letter.
CONSUL: She read the returned the letter.
CONSUL: Tell me about what degree you have finished?
ME: I’m a double major degree holder and I graduated……………
She checked here monitor and continue typing. I thought I was already done but suddenly she asks.
CONSUL: What if you won in Lottery in Las Vegas?
ME: I was nervous that time, In my mind I saw this question when I was researching but no answer provided.
It was naturally came out in my mouth….. My plan is to go to San Francisco and meet my friend there and not to visit Las Vegas.
It was inculcated by my parents gambling is bad and up to now I uphold to that values…….
CONSUL: Continue typing then suddenly she said…….. Ok Carlos Your visa has been approved ARAMEX will contact you after five working days.
ME: With a big smile and said YES….. Thank you very much.

When I was going out two people approached me and said Mabrook ( Congratulations in Arabic). They are locals and working as security in US Embassy. After two days I was able to received
my passport with 10 years visa and multiple entries.
