INFOPASS appointment experience
I just came back from an InfoPass appointment in San Francisco, CA and I just want to share my experience:
First of all, it was really worth it! The person you meet with at the InfoPass is an actual immigration officer, not just a customer service person who reads the info we already have access to.
My PD is November 3rd, 2016 and my case is stuck at "Fingerprint Fee Received" so I asked about it. He looked into their system and said that as of December 14th, my case was "Ready to be scheduled for interview". He said that they often forget to update the online case, but he confirmed that their internal system showed it was ready to be scheduled for an interview. He had access to everything on his computer. He also told me that my background check was completed, and that I'm in line for an interview. In San Francisco, he said my interview will be between June and August at the latest (since my PD is November 3rd). He also said that as of March 1st in SF, they are interviewing people with PD of July and August, which was good info to know.
He was very detailed and specific and told me everything he knew about my case and whatever he could see on his screen in their internal data base. For anyone who is worried about their case or has any questions, I strongly recommend to book an InfoPass appointment. It's free, and you will meet with an actual immigration officer who has access to all the data that you can't see.
