Interview
Hi everyone, so I want to share my interview process on Feb 23. My husband and I arrived about an hour early & we were told to sit and wait and come back 15 min before our scheduled interview time. We did as we were told, and about 10 minutes after our scheduled time we were called in. We sat down with a friendly smiling IO. She first asked me if I had applied for Advanced Parole & I said no. Then she made a confused face and asked what other paperwork I have applied for USCIS. I said only thing I had in the past was DACA. And she said ah right, Im going to have to request for those files to be sent to me, there in a special private place. She then asked my husband & I to stand and take an oath. She then started with the questions, she first asked my husband my full name, my date of birth, name of my parents, how we met, when we got married. She asked him if he has visited my home country & he said no and she said why not? he said because he's waiting to be able to go with me, and the IO smiled and said good answer. She then asked me a few questions, only what is my husbands name, what year was he born and what was our anniversary. Literally thats all she asked me. Then she asked both of us where we got married, we told her it was the court and then showed her our albums, we had our wedding album, 2 scrapbooks, and a family album. She literally went through every page smiling and asking where some of the photos were taken and asked if we wanted to hand in a few photos to keep in their files so we handed her some. She also joked around with my husband a lot, she laughed a lot because my husband is really positive and funny. She complimented him on that. She then asked me why I hadn't changed my last name, I said because its too much of a process. She then offered if I would like to have his last name on my green card, and you can do that? she said yes of course if you would like, I said sure. That made my husband smile even more and she said look at him all happy. She then went through the yes/no questions. At the end she said she has to expedite my DACA paperwork to be with her so that all my files are kept together, and said once that comes in she sees no reason as to why she cant approve me, then went over the conditional terms. Also told me to change every card I have that has my last name to his. She walked us out and when I got home to check my status it said "My name was updated". Now its going to b 3 weeks tomorrow, and still no response on my I-485. I know I shouldn't worry but I'm curious if anyone has had an interview experience as mine especially those who had DACA before. Please let me know.
