Sad and upsetting new ??????
Hello Everyone, hope you'all having a good weekend so far!!
So I just receive a letter in the mail from my lawyer office that she's closing her business due to medical emergency so she can no longer represent me!!!! Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhh?????? and from now on its my sole responsibility to carry on with my case. They provide a list of attorney's that will provide free consultation but hiring another lawyer will of course come from my pocket.
Also said the state Supreme Court will handle refunding me whatever the lawyer didn't earn. But of course that will take several months.
I am really angry mostly because her office didn't call or email me to inform me in a more professional manner cause when she was taking my money she was very upfront and ready to collect.
So far my i-485 is ready to be scheduled for interview and I'm 45days waiting for EAD/AP and no RFE, I feel I shouldn't be worried and there's no real need to get another lawyer cause its just the waiting phase left.
What do you all think? Should I just handle the rest on my own (my husband and I are getting all the supporting documents we can get, we filed 2016 tax together, bank account, bills, Photos, travel, same phone plan, lease, working on insurance, etc) or should I get another lawyer.
