Interview Experience
Hello Friends!

I found this website very helpful and have been reading your posts, and sharing my concerns for months. It is now over for me, at least for another 2 years.

I would like to share my interview experience. Please let me know if you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them.

I had my interview at the beginning of the last week. My PD is 11/01, Chicago is my field office. We arrived with my husband 30 minutes earlier, but we probably had to wait for another 1.5-2 hours to be called.

White lady in her 40s-50s, called us in and sworn.

Then, she asked my husband about his full name, my full name, his date of birth, my date of birth, his place of birth, and my place of birth, if he was married before (he was, once), if he applied for his ex wife to adjust her status (he did), if he has kids, if I have kids, and when did we get married. All of the questions were based on the I-130 form we submitted.

Then, she asked us how did we meet, where did we go on our first date, who contacted whom first. These questions were not directed to anyone specifically, so we were both answering and adding some details.

Then, she got back to me, she confirmed our address and ask me if I work anywhere. I just got my EAD at the beginning of February and I am self-employed, so I said that. She also asked me when, where, and on what type of visa I arrived to the US.

Then, she asked us what documents did we bring. We had copies of every single document ready. I gave her copies of our joint taxes, bank account statements, flight tickets, and wedding invitations from our friends. She asked about photos, so I handed her our album and she skipped through pages and took about 10 pictures. No questions about people from the pictures.

And then she asked me all of the yes/no questions, and said that everything looks fine, and I am approved.

The same day, I got a notification that my card is being produced and then it changed to case was approved. I haven't received my GC yet, but I'm hoping to have it some time this week. I will let you know as soon as I get it.

A few suggestions from me:
- Get ready copies of all of the documents and be organized.
- Go over all of the forms that you submitted, because that's what the IOs already have and they will ask a lot of questions based on these forms.
- Talk to your significant other and discuss details regarding your relationship.
- Smile and be confident.

I wish you all the best guy and keep my fingers crossed for you!
