TIPS ON MANAGING YOUR STRESS AND ANXIETY
Hi All,
I would just like to share on how I kept myself from being stressed and anxious about this whole process of Adjusting Status.
When we submitted our application, our lawyer sent us an email and gave us a TIMELINE:
WHAT TO EXPECT:
1. RECEIPT NOTICES IN THE MAIL FROM USCIS WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS;
2. BIOMETRICS APPOINTMENT FOR BENEFICIARY IN ABOUT A MONTH;
3. WORK PERMIT ISSUED AROUND 3-4 MONTHS;
4. INTERVIEW AROUND 6 MONTHS.
I programmed myself to expect:
1. Receipt notices in a couple of weeks - but we received the notices on the 4th day.
2. Biometric appointment in about a month - but received my appointment notice within 19 days.
3. Work permit around 3-4 months - received work permit after 3 months and 20 days because i had RFE - Initial for Birth Certificate.
4. INTERVIEW AROUND 6 MONTHS - JUST WENT ABOUT MY LIFE EXPECTING INTERVIEW IN 6 MONTHS BUT INTERVIEW WAS SCHEDULED EXACTLY 4 MONTHS FROM WHEN I FILED APPLICATION!
Just relax and expect the worst and if the opposite happens, thank God for the blessing!
I have a question though for people here who applied for SSN. I applied for SSN last Monday, March 20, 2017 and they told me they will mail it to me within 4 weeks. I just would like to know from people who applied and how soon they got their SSN. Although I am programmed to expect it within 4 weeks, just hoping it is shorter than that.
