Visa Stamping from Canada/ Mexico

On Mar-17, I booked my visa appointment. First I tried for Toronto but there was no availability until Sep' 17, so I put in new DS160 for Ottawa & got an appointment for Mar-22. I am Canadian Permanent Resident.

My interview was scheduled for 8.15 am.
I reached the Embassy @7.45, extreme chilly that day. Just outside the entrance a security person verified my name with my DS160 appointment & used a metal detector to scan my body.
Once inside I was asked to verify my DS160, Passport & I797 to a lady. She verified & let me proceed for further security check, like the airport.
I was asked to deposit my cell phone & was given a token.
I proceeded inside & there instructions written to proceed to windows 5/6 for non-immigrant visas. The lady there verified my details, also I had received an email that my photo didn't pass the quality standards & was instructed to carry new photos. I gave my photo to her & she scanned it, put a sticker on my passport & asked me to proceed & wait for a signal from windows 1/2.

There was a Chinese student at the window giving his interview for a visitor visa, he was doing Ph.D. in Canada & was planning to visit some friend's graduation ceremony in the US. I heard the conversation, he was asked when is he planning to visit US, he said May-21 & he was given his passport & asked to send an updated resume.

The lady then called me. I am on H1 with one of the Big 4, but was on L1 previously with one of the WITCH.

VO: Why are you going to the US

VO: So you were on l1 with YYYY company previously?

VO: What do you do?

VO: Who is your current client"

VO: Was the client same when you were on L1 with ZZZ?
Me - I sensed there was some confusion with here, I explained to her that my current client is YYY & while I was on L1 with YYYY company there was no relation with this client.

VO: Do you have a client letter (By this time she was not happy, her body & face language showed signs of rejection).
Me: I don't have any client letter, but I do have amended h1 petition which was approved (she didn't buy it).

VO: Do you have your paystub?
Me: Yes, I do have all do you want to see the last 3?

VO: Just the latest one, & the W2 as well.!
Me: Provided the documents. She looked into them & gave it back to me & started entering notes in the system & I have my fingers crossed.

VO: You visa is approved & you will get you passport in 2-3 days. She then went back & put my passport in a small box.

I returned back happily, collected my cell phone & asked the security if I could use my cellphone to call a taxi/uber. They said you cannot switch on the cell phone inside the building. It was extreme chill so I stepped out & searched for a Starbucks to have a coffee & call uber.

Mine was the first case to be approved for the day. I packed my luggage from my friend's house & took a Greyhound for Toronto & checked my status all the way.

Initially, it was in Admin Processing until 11 am, but @12 noon I got an email stating the passport has been dispatched. The tracking was updated later @4 pm for the package to be delivered next day on Mar-23.
