Trips Outside of the US
I thought it might be reassuring to share my experiences particularly as they relate to part 9 of the N-400.

In brief, my timeline was as follows:

PD - 9/27/2016
Interview - 3/13/2017
Oath ceremony 4/12/2017

So all relatively straightforward but the unusual aspect was the number of trips I have taken outside the US in the last 5 years. They totaled 132 and over 500 days cumulatively outside of the US. This was a worry to me even though my longest single trip was 18 days (my average trip length was 3 days). At the interview, I was asked why I had taken so many trips and I explained that the vast majority (probably 95%) were work related. The officer commented that 132 trips in a 5 year period was the most she had ever seen! She then went on to ask if any of the trips were over 6 months and none of them were even close. My cumulative days outside the US were also significantly under the 913 maximum. The officer then said that ordinarily they would check off each of my trips against stamps in my passport, but as there were so many they wouldn't be doing that (in any event my passport wasn't stamped for a lot of my trips).

And in relation to the trips, that was it. We moved on to the next question and at the end of the interview my application was approved, which was a huge relief. A lot of worry but all very much worth it in the end. Best of luck to all.
