INTERVIEW DONE/SUCCESSFUL
Hi Guys !
Praise The Lord !
I wish to share my interview experiences with my wife yesterday being April, 19, 2017.
Priority Date: November 25, 2016.
Field Office: Fresno
Visa: F-1 to AOS Through Marriage
Here goes our interview. We arrived at the place 40mins before the appointment time which was at 12:00pm. We went through the security check, got our number and was asked to wait in the Lobby to be called.
In fact, we stayed more in the Lobby than the actual interview, probably like an hour and some minutes because I and my wife were called by this nice and humble IO, an Asian and probably Vietnamese and she seems to be in her 40s or so.
She led I, my wife and our lawyer to her office. When we got to her office, she introduced herself and asked my wife to seat at the left side while I sat by the right side, then she went to bring another chair for our lawyer.
First, she asked us to stand up and then did the swearing in. Here come the questions:
IO: Can I see your ID’s
ME & MY WIFE: Yes, we showed her.
IO: Do you have the updated medical report
LAWYER: No
ME: Yes, I have and then handed it over to her and my lawyer said “wao”, meanwhile was a kind of surprised and I guessed was also embarrassed for not have giving proper information before the interview.
IO: Your dates of birth
ME & MY WIFE: Answered
Meanwhile, my wife is older than me with few years.
IO: When did you come to USA
ME: Answered
IO: When did you stop school
ME: Answered
IO: Do you work
ME: Answered
IO: Do you have SSN and can I see it
ME: Answered
IO: What’s your married name
WIFE: Answered
IO: Asked Yes/ No Questions
ME: Answered
IO: Any other document to show bonafide
ME: Gave our album. In fact, the IO went through the album one after the other and we had about 200 pictures that showed our wedding and daily activities.
Honestly, no one will see our album and the way it was organized and have doubt in our marriage.
I went ahead pulling out our joint tax, credit cards, PG&E bill, Comcast bill and gave it to her but she told us that the album has showed enough proof, I was like omg, what a nice IO. Although, at the end we forgot the bills and joint tax record there, lol, that might go into the trash or mail back to me.
At the end, she gave me something to sign and then to my lawyer. She told us that she is going approve my I-130 and then started explaining to us about the Conditional GC but later stopped and told my lawyer that she hoped he would have told us about that before now and my lawyer answered he did already.
Then the IO gave a paper to take home, she also told us due to bla bla bla bla, the I-485 will take a little while to be approved and I will receive my card in the mail.
So, 10mins after we left the interview place, I received a case update on my I-130 that my name was updated. Don’t know the meaning but I think that’s the approval. Then, 30mins after that, I received another case update on my I-485 that New Card Is Being Produced and will mail it to the address you gave us.
TIP: If your marriage is real, you don’t need to stress out for anything, no matter how long the process might take. Hence, prayer and faith in God is the key. I and my wife cannot stay out a day without praying together, prayer really works and when you pray with faith.
I will add again, from my experiences during this process, honestly, I see no reason hiring an attorney unless you have a serious case because I was the one giving my lawyer information and even the documents needed for the interview and I was also the one pushed hard through the help of the Congressman before I got my EAD. In all, this forum was a good help and informative during my whole processes, so I wish to thank everyone here for your contribution and pray that all the people here that are still in the process will be successful as well.
But in all, God first.
Feel free to ask me any question, am willing to help out.
