I-485 Interview done but no decision
Hi Guys,
I spent a quality of time reading everyone's experience and believe me some of them dropped my stomach :( Every time, I read I feel I am watching a horror movie. Please help me and share with me any similar situation you may experienced or heard of.
My brother is USC filed for me a petition 13 years ago
when he filed I was still back home, couple years later I entered the States as an F-1 and continued to be an F-1 despite the difficulties and financial hurdles. I maintained F-1 for 10 years almost untill my priority date for the I-130 petition became current then I applied to adjust my status. I sent the package I485, I765 and I 131..so I received a biometric app on April 2016, then received my EAD on July 2016 up until that time I was still enrolled. Once, I received the EAD, I believe the school got notified and told me that it is all good now that you have the EAD and you have adjustment of status pending that you don't need to keep the F1 since it contradicts with I485. So I did what I was told that it won't make sense being on F1 and working on EAD for for something else.
Anyways:
Got my interview 04/17/17.
Met the officer who was very serious. My brother went in with me to show that he still petitioning for me. officer started asking me what's on the I485 submitted, he took my old work permits that I received through my OPT along with my I-94. Asked to see my diplomas " I am glad I took them with me" and asked me if I maintained my status all this time and I sure did up until I applied for adjust of status and until I received EAD. Everything in front of the officer anyways. I gave him all the I-20 I got from the school and they can also see that in the Sevis record.
He moved to the yes and no questions. Also, he took a pic of me along with fingerprint match.
At the end he took my I-20 and diploma along with my birth certificate and my brother's as well to make a copy and returned back. he asked me if I have any questions and If not then the interview is complete.
He then tried to print something from the computer that he said to show that I came in to the interview but the page doesn't want to open for my luck.
Then he said I will mail it to you today and that he will review my file and receive something in the mail.
Today is a week after the interview and I haven't heard a word. I see some people are getting notifications the same day or day after. I am in an emotional turmoil, I am loosing my sleep and almost my mind thinking what could happen and why the officer did not tell me either I am approved or not.
Guys sorry to make this long but I have no one to talk to or ask. I spoke to Congresman and he said that they won't inquire until 3 months past :(
Please tell me what do you guys think? who has been in the same boat?
What else can do to find out what is going on?
Thank you all for your time.
