AoS after interview
So yesterday I had my interview for Adjustment of status. Same sex marriage. It was really weird. The officer was very nice. He started serious and I thought he was gonna be rude, but after he sworn us he started asking questions to my husband (the USC) and they both were joking around with some of the questions.he started asking questions about the I-130 to verify the information and then he just asked only few personal questions. How did we meet? Who proposed to who? How long have you been dating? When the relationship turned romantic? Do you have any kid or plan to have one? (Hello! We are gay, we can not get pregnant) why did it took so long for both of you to get married? (Since we have been together for 5 years and just decided to get married last year) by the way same sex marriage was not legal until 2 years ago I think. Then he starting asking me the yes or no questions and some other questions related to my I-485. After that he asked my to sign and date a seal it was stamped at the last page of the I-485. Is that the normal thing? Then he took me a picture and the fingerprints of 2 fingers. Is that the normal thing also? After that he went to make copies of my passport and some other documents and came back to tell was this: "the interview is over, everything looks good but I have to hold your case for review. I will try to work on it today if not next week. You will get a letter of the decision on the mail following the green card in about two weeks after the notification, but I can't promise you a timeframe, there is no timeframe for it". So he hand us a letter that says the same he told us and walk us out of the office. He never asked match questions. Maybe because I sent tons of evidence when I filled and provided even more after the interview. I was so pissed because after a whole month preparing a really nice and organized book, the guy at the front desk asked me to pull out all the documents that I was gonna submit. 350 pages of evidence for nothing. Plus I had a transcript of 400 pages of text messages between me and my husband just in case he was hesitating on believing in us. I left the USCIS office a little bit frustrated and sad for not getting approved, but I guess that's the norm for overstaying.
