H1B stamping experience in Ottawa, Canada - Approved

DO NOT carry back bags. they don't let you in. Just carry the file with the docs.

Note: This is my third stamping visit to this embassy. i had been to this embassy for my L1B (2013) and H1B in 2016.

My appointment was @ 7:45 a.m. on May 2nd 2017. i was the first one to enter and after initial security check up, we entered the interview room.

First, I was directed to the finger print section where they validate DS160 and take finger prints. also you can change photo if you have new one than one uploaded in DS160. this was done in 2-3 mins.

next, i went to the interview queue. none was there. VO just sat in his seat and here is the rest of the story.

VO: Good morning
Me: Good Morning (handing over the passport, I797 and DS160).
VO: Are you still with XYZ and How long with your employer?
Me: 9 years and 11 months
VO: who is your client? He mentioned my previous client name and asked me if i still work for them.
Me: No. XYZ based in Y city
VO: How long you have been with this client?
Me: 4 months (starting Jan 2017)
VO: When did your last visa expired? He also mentioned that i was interviewed by his colleague in my previous appaerence.
Me: Mar 2017. I had my previous stamping at the same consulate 6 months ago.
VO: what is your role? are you a programmer?
Me: I said Yes and explained little bit of the role and also about my project.
VO: your visa is approved and will collect your passport at the location provided.
Me: Thank you

Overall, it just took 10 mins as i was the first one to enter and that is the earliest appointment for the day as well. Experience was great!

All the best!
