Hello,

I have been reading this forum for ages to prepare everything including mentally for my whole process.

PD : Dec 20 2016
Bio metric : Jan 25 2017
Rfe : Jan 23 2017
Rfe received : Feb 7 2017
Interview Sched : March 24 2017
EAD approved : March 26 2017
EAD card received : April 8th 2017

Interview date was April 26 2017.

My wife is USC. We had a lawyer with us. We got there 15 mins before the interview time and there were like 50 people in front of us in line which took us another 30 mins or so to get inside. Our lawyer was already in the building and gave a clerk our notice.

Our interview time as 8 : 55 am. An female officer in her late 40s called us twice at 9 : 15 and 9 : 30 when we were not even through the security check yet. My lawyer explained that to her and she waited.

Around 9 : 45, she called us again and we were there already. We went in, sworn in and sat down. Asked us our IDs and our lawyer's too. Apparently, she didn't get what she needed from our lawyer so she went out to ask her supervisor to see if it was ok. She came back after like 10 mins and said it was ok.

So we started the interview. Basically asked me about questions and answers on our forms. Where is my ss number? My dob, address.

Then asked my wife wedding date, her dob and her employment verfication letter.

She asked us to see our original birth certificates.

Then, asked us if we got any more docs as joints. I gave her car insurance, my car title with both of our names on it, Bank statement from last year Oct to this year april, Our phone bills etc.

We had a joint sponsor who was my father in law. I asked if she wanted to see updated info about him. She said, nothing changed right? We said right. She said then I don't need to see.

I forgot to show our album at that point and she asked did you guys go to any trip together? I said yes to a few places and remembered to show her the album.

She looked at 30 + pics of ours then asked us who were in a few pics.

Then she got up and said I need your I 94 and old passport with your visa in it. Then she took them and went out to go do a copy of them. I was F 1 student btw. After she went out of the room, our lawyer came to us and said everything was looking good. We were encouraged at that point.

It took about 10 mins. She came back and handed my passport back to me. I secretly flipped thru my passport pages to see if she took I 94 as if they did, it could be a good thing as people here said.

She took I 94 and only gave my passport back to me. I was very happy at that point.

Then she sat down and pretty much handed a paper saying she approved us and we should get a 2 years GC in 2 weeks and should remove condition on it after 1 year and 9 months etc.

At that point, I didn't really hear much. All I heard was approved and was not even sure if I did for sure. Was not seeing anything either. haha.

So she asked any question and we said nope ty for your time, shaked hands and went out. We were so happy and could close our smiles at that point.

We collected everything we could before we filed the case. Including, letters from our parents, friends, also my wife about how we met. Car insurance, lease, taxes, about 10 pics, everything we could find at that point. The process may have been easy because of it as they would see everything in order at the point when they called us for interview.

Our case was one of the fastest I think from what I read around here. I couldn't sleep well for about a week before the interview date. I thought on the day, I would just let it go. We prepared well for it already and there was nothing to hide. So I thought about being relaxed on the morning of the day.

Except, we were a tad late, couldn't get inside the building for 30 mins after the appointment time. The IO called us 3 times. Our lawyer's ID was not accepted at first etc.

So everything was stressful and chaos till the end.

It was worth it though when I got my GC card in hand today.

They approved our case on 26th on the spot. My online status changed to that on 27th. I got approval letter on May 1st 2017 and On the same day, online status said card was maild to me.

I received it on may 4th 2017.
