International travel on EAD
Does anyone have experience with travelling internationally to a country other than their country of origin on their EAD? My husband has AP as we await our AOS (PD 10/25/16), and he recently traveled to his home country without any issues.
He now needs to travel to abroad for work to a different country (applying for a tourist visa), and when he went to the country's embassy to apply for the visa, he was told that he was not allowed to apply for/receive a visa to travel. He would need to return to his home country to apply. They cited the fact that he was here originally on a tourist visa as the reason, even though he as since gotten work authorization and AP.
Has anyone traveled abroad on AP to a country that is not their country of origin? Looking for advice on how to get the travel visa without incurring the additional expense of him returning home to apply for the visa there.
