My A/P Travel with DACA Experience
First of all I want to thank everyone in this blog who has traveled before me and have shared their experience using Advance Parole especially the ones that have DACA, Thank you. I am thanking them because I would have not had the courage to travel with my Advance Parole without their experiences, help and knowledge especially with this new administration. My time line is like this

• AP sent December 23 2016 to the Chicago lockbox next day delivery (Expedited, did not work)
• USCIS received December 27th 2016
• Approved May 1, 2017 case move to “We mailed your document”
• Received AP on May 6 2017
• No approval letter (you don’t need them, but they might mailed you one)
• Travel May 10th 2017 from LAX TO Veracruz with A flight transfer in Mexico City
• Returned May 14 2017 From Veracruz To LAX with a stop in Mexico City
I traveled with my siblings who are also have DACA we Apply at the same time and got approved within a week or two of each other for humanitarian reasons to see my grandmother who is 73 years old and in bad health. I was confident to travel because I had read all the past experiences other people had post on this blog. My brother and sister traveled with me. I think it made it easier for us to come back in. When we arrived at LAX we fill out the declaration of items you bring. Make sure you fill one out for every single person and be honest of what you are bringing. We got in line as soonest we got inside and they told us to go with an officer at the counter past the new machines they have. I handed him my AP papers my California I.D my DACA work permit and my passport. He asked why we traveled and I told him to see out grandmother who is sick and old. That’s the only question he asked about the traveled, he was more concerned when my brother and sister handed their documents because we all had different address. My brother told the officer that it was because I was married live with my wife and my sister with her husband and he lives with my mom. He took our finger prints on both hands and a picture, for some reason he did it twice on my sister and me. He then he handed back our work permit cards and I.D’s and kept the two AP papers and passport together and told us he couldn’t stamped us and that we had to go to the room behind him. We followed him into the room and told us to have a seat. Make sure that when you are in that room you do not turn on your cellphone and don’t use it even to check time they will yell at you and could take it away. My brother and sister saw someone get their cellphone taken away from their purse they had warn them twice. We sat there for about 20 minutes they called my name and handed me my passport and told me to have a nice day. I was expecting to get question again but since I think we were the last flight of the night they didn’t. I was first to leave then my brother followed ten minutes later and so did my sister. We had no complications the only one we did have was the declaration form since it says one per family my sister didn’t filled one out since she was traveling with her husband USA citizen he filled it out and she didn’t the first officer made her filled one out but he had it only in Chinese and so he told her copy my. Inside the room they asked her if she knew Chinese and she said no her and the officer laugh and told her to fill out a new one. Over all I had the best time seeing my grandmother after 17 years it was the first time meeting my grandmother for my brother and sister and the rest of the family. If you apply for AP go and come back as soonest possible things could change at any moment. We flew Aeromexico and it was great they didn’t really check our stuff to come back in other then your passport and making sure we filled out our Mexican Immigration paper it’s just a notice of why you are flying out of Mexico. Some of the officers could be rude to you I say don’t let it get to you just let it go they have your case in their hands and could complicate things if you argue or give them attitude . If you have questions let me know I will try to answer as soonest possible.
