Advance Parole

Hi everyone here, I've been a silent member since 2015, pd for i130,i485 was sept 2015 and interview was November 2016. Till date, I haven't heard anything or got a result of my interview. I have raised several SR but all 5 of them say they're running background checks/review. I'm about to renew my EAD for the second time as well as my advanced parole. I intend to travel from the last week of July to the 1st week of September but I'm skeptical about it because people keep warning me not to take the risk. I've heard stories of people who have travelled and had no problems. Mind you, my field office is Houston and I have no criminal record or background. Has anyone ever travelled with their EAD that long after being out of status and came back without any issues? I'm willing to take the risk but again, is it worth taking is another question. Anyone with a similar experience, please advise me. Thank you.
