Interview done and case approved :)
Hello everyone.
Thank you so much for putting in your replies and experiences as it really helps. I hope everyone here gets around their case and get through the immigration paper work .
My husband's EAD got approved in exact 90 days and his interview letter came for the adjustment of status based on marriage to a US citizen in May. His interview was yesterday.
In the letter, they had sent specific instructions on what to bring. Please make a check list and go through it several times and get a binder/folder that separates everything. Because the interviewing officer went through almost everything and kept the copies. (Btw pls put copies and take originals with you as well as our IO asked for originals too just to verify some documents).
We went for our interview and were taken back on time. The lady who took us was really nice and helped us ease down a little.
As soon as she took our oath, she asked us to bring forth any evidence to legitimize our marriage. We brought bank statement, lease, insurance copies and wedding pictures. Since me and my husband didn't live together for sometime, we didn't have any trips together. But she was looking for more substantial proof but went with the pictures and other documents we had.
While she was talking to us, she was making copies of some documents and taking notes as well.
Our marriage was less than 2 years ( our 2nd anniversary is next month) so we expected to go through some questions that validated the marriage but she didnt ask anything except how long we knew each other and how did we meet. She asked if I had met his parents.
The interview was 15 mins max and she just told us that IF she approves the case , the green card will be temporary and we'd need to renew it before the 2 year period. Failure to do it would result in straight deportation . Also she said that for that renewal process she'll need extra documentation that shows our relationship is still intact and more proof of marriage so any trips, joint tax returns etc.

We left with a white paper that told us the case is under review and we'll learn about the result within 4-6 weeks or maybe sooner (according to the IO).

I checked my status after 4 hours and it was approved. A great moment as my husband hadn't met his family for 5 years so it was a great news for him.

I hope this helps those awaiting their interview. Pls prepare well and make sure addresses are current and everything is organized. If you take your wedding picutres pls make sure you have them in an album but copies to give to the USCIS as well.
