NY FILER- Got my green card!
got my green card in the mail yesterday! Wanted to share my timeline as everyone has been so helpful and reassuring.
July 29, 2016: Package delivered to Chicago lockbox
August 15: Receipts received in the mail
August 23: Biometrics notice received in the mail (starting with "MSC")
Sept 2: Biometrics appointment
(up to this point, unable to track any of the receipts online--receive an error message)
Sept 12: Finally able to track the I-485 receipt online. Says that they are ready to schedule for interview
May 5: Scheduled for interview
June 9: interview at Federal plaza
June 17: online status changed to card production!
June 19: online status changed to approval notice sent
June 22: received approval notice
June 24: received card in the mail!
The hardest part was really the interview. It lasted 45 minutes and the officer grilled us on many things. She also asked us about addresses from even before we started dating! It really threw us off.
I brought about 20 photos, including those from our city hall, engagement shoot, and photos with friends and family. She was particularly intrerested in the friends and family photos. Also brought a wedding invitation for our big wedding celebration, joint bank statements, joint mortgage statements, a prior joint lease, joint taxes.
