Adjustment of status interview experience
Hi guys,

I had my interview today (June 26th) and just wanted to share my experience. I am married to US citizen, adjusted status from F-1 visa and OPT. Priority date was June 13th, 2016. I did my biometrics in July, 2016, and got my EAD approved on August 28, 2016. I did not apply for Advance Parole, so I only got the EAD card on September 7, 2016. Since then, I've been waiting for my interview appointment, which took more than a year to schedule. I did two service requests - in February and March 2017 (through customer service representative over the phone); the first request did not receive any response, but after the second one we got a notice that due to the heavy workload not related to our case, there has been a delay in processing applications. My interview notice arrived May 23th, 2017, and on June 26th, 2017 we had an interview (Charlotte NC field office). The interview lasted for about 30 min, and most of the questions were about forms I-130 and I-485. The officer also asked my husband how we met and how the wedding went. We had a very small ceremony and not a lot of pictures, but it was ok. The officer was very nice, which made the interview easy. The officer approved my I-485 at the end of the interview, and my card will be arriving in the mail soon. The officer thanked us for bringing a lot of supporting evidence (joint bank and credit card statements, apt lease, car, health, and renters insurance, joint car ownership, joint tax return). Overall, the process took more than a year and was quite nerve-wracking, but we are very happy with the decision.
