Back to the US in less than 30 mins...
Just updating you guys with my successful return to the US through Houston, TX.
- Plane landed at 7:30 pm
- Went through customs at 7:45 pm with my US citizen wife. Officer was super nice and even joked a little bit about how i looked like a baby in my passport picture (i was fully shaved, now i have a badass beard lol). Only question asked was where I worked.
- 7:50 pm I was escorted by an Officer for secondary inspection in the little room.
- 7:55 pm Officer called my name and handed me back my passport (stamped) and combo card, and complimented me about my beard and said "welcome home". No questions asked.
It was a very smooth transition considering that I had overstayed my visa for two years and have a misdemeanor on my record.
If you're debating on wether or not to take the risk, I'd say DO IT! it's worth the risk, you will be just fine! I saw my family in Mexico after almost 10 yrs and traveled through the little towns all the way to cancun and tulum,
