effect of spouse petitioner-sponsor being joint sponsor for someone else?
Hello everyone, I'm new here and am encouraged and impressed by the knowledge and advice of so many here!
We submitted our application packet recently and just got the (marriage-based) concurrent-filing process started this month. A sister of mine will be petitioning our mom, but their household income is not sufficient at this time to support our mom of their own, so an option is to get a joint sponsor. My question is: If my spouse were to consider being a joint sponsor with my petitioning sister, does anyone here know if/how it would affect our pending application for me (since my spouse is my petitioner and sole sponsor)? For instance, would it delay the processing/progress of our marriage-based application? (We don't want any unexpected delays by adding a variable, especially since our application has already been received by uscis, and our case is pretty straightforward. By the way, we are based in Los Angeles, but my sister and mom are based in the Houston area.)
