Norfolk Office: Asylum to Family based Green card experience
Anyone here has experience with the Norfolk field office. My case is simple but a little different and want to see if anyone has the issue...

Here is a summary,
I filed for asylum in March 2015 with the Arlington office. It has been pending ever since. I eventually married a USC and filed I485 and I130 in Jan, 2017.

Interviewed May 31 at the Norfolk USCIS. Interview was perfect, went well and I was recommended for approval pending they received my asylum file documents from the Arlington office. I eventually got my I-130 approval in mail. Nothing else.

My lawyers contacted arlington office who eventually confirmed they had sent my file over to Norfolk office in July 13.

Today makes it 2 months since my interview and no word. I issued a request via USCIS to know about my case and got response from Norfolk that case is still pending consideration.

My biggest issue is not the long wait, it is my EAD ( which I acquired via my asylum application) expires Aug 31 and I didn't renew it because I relied on my Green card to come before then. Now I am desperate and scared it may not arrive and I will lose my job.

Has anyone here experienced something similar to this? Or have experience with the Norfolk office? How can I persuade them to please speed up my i485 approval before my EAD expires Aug 31 so I do not lose my job!

I have set up an infopass with the Norfolk office for next week to see what I can find out. I have also taken the advice from some people on this wonderful forum to contact my congressman.

Advice anyone? I am almost losing my mind waiting. I need relief!
