Almost one year to get my citizen !
I Promised myself once it’s all set and done. I will share my crazy story!
My journey took me almost a year ! It was very stressful

I live in Alabama, I Filed my N400 application through Dallas Texas, My field office is Atlanat GA .
My timing :-

Applied - August 11th 2016
Finger Print – September 9th 2016
Status changed to in-line for interview - November 17 2016
Long wait

Called level 2 officers once each month.

Interview was scheduled – April 26th 2017
Interview completed June 1st 2017 Atlanta GA

The interview went smooth and I passed it . It took me less than 10 mins .
I was told it will take two to three weeks to receive my oath letter and nothing to worry about since I wasn’t changing my name .

After a month july 6th I did call level 2 officer , I asked him two questions .

1- why it takes so long ?
2-do you guys schedule people in order (first come first serve) ? .

He replied that they are trying to find a time to schedule my oath. And yes they do it in order because there is no such a thing call different cases at this point . Meaning if you filed for N400 some cases takes longer than other cause (marrying, asylum, and serving etc…) “every case is different”.
I personally know people from Alabama who did apply after me, and their interview was same time frame like mine, beginning of June. They were scheduled already and got their oath few weeks after their interview .

July 14th I did an info pass (Montgomery Alabama ). I did explained to them my situation. They told me all files must transfer to Alabama now and it may takes me up to 125 days !!
I wasn’t happy with their feedback. I brought the fact that some people I know who had their interview in Atlanta and got their oath already. The director himself came and spoke to me and admit it that I should have my oath already and what happened was wrong . he promised me to have my file in Montgomery and get my oath as soon as it gets here.

July 25- I called level 2 to track my file . My file has been in Montgomery since July 21st .
August 1st , 2017 I did an info pass and was prepare for reason they will come up with. They told me we will let you have your oath today if you are free !

I had my oath by myself . It was very emotional moment. All that had work paid off. Finally I am proud of being an American after 12 years living in this nation!

My advice- Keep tracking your case from time to time, they could make mistake or someone don’t do their job right, and your paper stuck for no reason.
God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.
