Brooklyn-Filer
Hello there, I'm new to this forum and I hope to receive some answers or advice throughout my journey. I'm applying from Brooklyn, NYC.

My husband currently has a EAD through DACA.
We started our process applying for I-130 which was approved in 06/16,
Later we summited I-601A provisional waiver in 01/17
My husband began the process of renewing his EAD through DACA in April 2017, his was due to expire in June 2017,
And went for his biometric appointment for 04/20/17.

Also in March 2017 my husbands mother passed away and he wanted to attend her burial which was going to take place outside the USA. Someone mentioned getting an Advance Parole, we inquired with our attorney who advised against it and upon getting a reference to a different attorney from a family member we applied for an emergency AP that was approved on the spot. We traveled out and back into the USA with no problem. After arriving back to the USA, we hired a new attorney and summited an adjustment of status. In June 2017 our Provisional Waiver I-601A was denied due to an adjustment of status case.

Adjustment of status case received on 04/19/17,
Biometric appointment on 05/20/17,
Nothing since then.

On July 20, 2017, my husband contacted USCIS on information regarding his EAD through DACA, it had been over 115 days and the officer could not explain why the case was taking, an inquiry was submitted to the officer in charge of the case. On July 25, 2017 we received an email of approval on his EAD and DACA. On July 29, 2017 we received his EAD card in the mail.

Now I'm wondering if it was necessary to submit a EAD application with his Adjustment of Status?
Does DACA change the process for GC?
