Adjustment of Status - I-485

I-485 DECISION PENDING, EAD EXPIRING
Adjusting status from B1/B2 based on marriage.
Filled on June 9th 2016. Interview was on May 4th at long island office. We were told that to wait for 120 days.In the mean time my EAD is going to expire this month. I sent EAD renewal 90 days before the expiration date. Till now no news about that.
I did one Service request about I-485 and i got one update today morning, it says
"Your petition is still pending consideration. We regret that we are not able to give you a time frame for when we will complete the review of your petition "
For category C09 (Pending adjustment of status) EAD will renewed automatically for 180 days. So i took the print outs and went to DMV to renew my driving license but they said they cannot renew without approval of EAD.
The supervisor officer at DMV told me to take the passport and print outs to Field office so they will put temporary EAD stamp on passport.
Do i need to take Info pass appointment to get the Temporary EAD stamp on passport?
